This article by Sam Sims got me really interested in alternative forms of CPD (and by alternative I mean anything other than one-off INSETT). We often talk about evidence-based professional development, but it is very difficult to measure it – here you will find an account of several pieces of research by different authors who were able to do it. That alone is inspiring! Add to this an unusual take on coaching for teachers, which is different from the Socratic manner of business coaches, being much more guided and structured, and it’s no wonder it’s in my references now.
