Teachers as warm demanders

In his recent  blog post David Geurin talks about balancing warmth and discipline in the classroom and adds a lot of extra reading material about being a ‘warm demander’ – a teacher who can “build relationships while maintaining high expectations”. A very inspiring read which for me ties together several important topics in ELT: Demand High, evidence-based teaching (and teacher training), deep work and less fun/more challenge.  So, are you a warm demander? Or simply warm? Or just a demander?
